If you want a really local brew, and a taste of Devon, try the cider made at the Winkleigh Cider Factory. You’ll find it in the local pubs, and the factory has a shop too, where you can try the different varieties and buy some to take home. Looking for a cat sitting present? This could be it! (But if your cat sitter is tee total, try a cactus from Winkleigh Cactus shop on the old airfield instead.)
Find Winkleigh Cider on the road going out of Winkleigh village towards Hatherleigh. Oddly enough, it’s called Hatherleigh Road. They’re open 9-5 Mon-Sat and 10am-1pm on Sundays. 01837 83560.
Actually, Winkleigh Cider is less than 3 miles from the accommodation at Wheatland Farm, so you could make it a bike ride on our free to borrow bikes. We often cycle past it on a weekday ride. Just take care coming back!
