#30DaysWild No. 3 First Meadow Brown of the Season

#30DaysWild No. 3. Meadow Brown Butterflies are emerging in the lodge field. When fresh, they look pretty smart!

In a few weeks, they’ll be more faded. But they’ll still provide plenty of movement amdist the summer grasses (and food for birds). Other butterflies currently to be found around Wheatland Farm’s eco lodges include brimstone, peacock, speckled wood, small skipper. We’re waiting for the first common blue to grace our Devon fields! Hopefully they’ll be around before #30DaysWild ends at the end of the month.

#30DaysWild Previously

#30DaysWild This time last year: Southern Marsh Orchids were coming into bloom.

#30DaysWild in 2017: We went exploring the Exe Estuary by bike – still highly recommended as a day out if you’re staying at Wheatland Farm!
