We’ve been seeing common carder bees for a few days now, but they can be tricky to photograph. Here’s our best bet so far.
The picture was taken on Popehouse Moor, where the bees were feeding on lousewort. Common Carder bees take us up to at least 6 species of bumble bees at Wheatland Farm (8 are common across the UK). Our other ‘definite’ five are: red tailed, buff tailed, tree bumble bees, garden bumblebee, early bumble bee. Here are some pictures of some of them.
