Spot the moth!

Seen it yet? It’s a streamer moth, Anticlea derivata. It took a few passes through the moth book to find it too.

The caterpillars feed on dog rose (which we encouraged around the eco lodges as it’s our native rose). The adults fly relatively early in the spring and summer – like now in April, favouring woodland edge. This one was on Popehouse Moor, but it’s just as likely to be found in the trees along the lodge path.
