This pretty little weasel was scurrying around the back door of the farmhouse. It was lovely to catch a glimpse, and even better to get a picture. Usually we see weasels running across the Devon lanes and disappearing into hedgerows – this is the closest we’ve come. Last year we were seeing a lot of stoats around the farm, especially in the spring when they were frequently around Otter Cottage and Balebarn Lodge. But we didn’t spot them this year. So the weasel is a good treat! The full face pic was taken with the DIY wildlife #MyNatureWatch camera as seen on BBC SpringWatch earlier in the year – housed in a tupperware pot. Shame it’s slightly out of focus, but it’s a lovely close shot. The others were old fashioned sitting and waiting for it to come out of hiding images!
