Annual amphibian invasion: 30 Days Wild No. 13

Did someone say an invasion of frogs? (Let’s not use the p word).

These little creatures were enough excuse to stop us mowing this afternoon. With the blades on high the froglets and toadlets seem to survive pretty well, but all the same what a waste it would be to mow them all down (or up).

Every year we look for these guys down by the pond in front of Balebarn Lodge. It’s usually June that we see them. Sometimes there are so many you can hardly put your foot down.

That’s #30DaysWild No. 13. Unlucky for some, but lucky for the frogs, and lucky for the mower, who got to sit in the sun with an icecream instead.
