Mr Toad. 30 Days Wild 2017 No. 5

This fella was hiding out in the undergrowth when we were doing some nettle clearing this morning. We probably should have put him in the poly tunnel to eat the slugs – but on the other hand there’s a couple of residents there already.

Thankfully, despite the pressures frogs and toads are facing world wide at the moment, there are still plenty at Wheatland Farm.

Well, we do have 6 sizable ponds plus several permanent small ones.  And they are usually filled with plenty of frogspawn in spring. Actually, come to think about it, it must be almost time for this year’s Biblical plague of toadlets – if we get that this year we’ll post some pics.
