Hospice nightwalk 2017

Yesterday’s rain cleared away in time for the North Devon Hospice’s Nightwalk. We were encouraged to be colourful, and that’s Farm Shop Fiona in the middle there, putting the rest of us to shame! Eleven miles is quite a hike, and took us about 3.5 hours but we were helped on our way by this Prosecco bar on the Tarka Trail at Instow. Elsewhere there were dancers, singers, light displays and general cheerings on. Stagecoach provided the bus back.

The best bit was not actually the Prosecco, but the view of Appledore in the fading light. With the tide out and the light on the glistening mud, and banks of wild oxeye daisies on the side of the trail, it really was spectacular, and I wouldn’t have seen it without the Nightwalk. Thanks to all who sponsored me – it was for a good cause. I’ve got blisters on my soles today though.
