Mukti Mitchell, North Devon's 'Climate Guru', is best known for sailing around Britain to promote happiness-inspired low carbon living. He has won several awards for the creation of his carbon footprint calculator, eco-yacht design and unique secondary glazing system. In this interactive presentation, he demonstrates his quality of life calculator, describes the thrills and perils of sailing around Britain in a 15ft yacht, and gives tips on energy conservation for period homes. On 18 May there's a Vintage motorcycle rally at Finch Foundry, a Devon National Trust property about 13 miles away from your holiday accommodation in the village of Sticklepath. Runs from 11:00 - 16:30. No charge for the rally, but normal entry fees if you want to go into the Foundry. It's worth it though, to see the last water-powered forge in England.

On Sunday 19 May at 7.30pm Nigerian singer Funmi Olawumi, the founder of the Yoruba Women Choir, plays the Plough with her 12-piece big band. Together they mix afrobeat, juju, highlife and fuji to create a big sound that is faaji music. Faaji is a Yoruba word for having a good time and with the rich eloquence of the talking drums driving the music expect explosive rhythms from one the great names of Nigerian music. On Thursday 23 May at 8.15pm Tracy Nicholson is playing a Gallery Gig at the Plough Arts Centre. Although from a very musical family, Tracy only started singing at the age of forty when she bought her first acoustic guitar. She quickly lost herself in the magical process of making music and started writing her own material six months later. Weaving everyday life with the beauty of nature into the fabric of her creations, Tracy feels that her songs are also poems in their own right. Celebrated folk-inspired singer-songwriter and virtuoso fiddler Seth Lakeman returns to RHS Garden Rosemoor with his superbly talented band. Seth has released six albums including 2005's Mercury-nominated Kitty Jay through to his latest album, Tales from the Barrel House. His fiddle and tenor guitar playing is often breathtaking and Seth's trademark, soaring vocals are at the forefront of the album, as beguiling and haunting as ever.
