The goslings have hatched...
The goslings have hatched - little golden (but soon to be grey) bundles of fluff. It must have been yesterday or today. Yesterday both adults were in attendance at the nest, and today they had their brood out and about and nibbling grass.
Meanwhile, on the moor there are signs of orchids pushing up, and the ground is dotted with marsh violets and the strange looking flowers of lousewort.
May is my favourite month of the year - so green, and usually mild even if it's damp. Yes, we've had a couple of drenchings over the last 24 hours, but the sun shines too and you can almost see things growing!
