Wheatland Farm Lodges and Cottages
Spring is here. Maybe it shouldn't be, but it is. I've seen 2 butterlflies - small tortoiseshell as far as I could make out, but they weren't hanging about. They've probably regretted the sunshine giving them an early wake up call when cold nights followed.
There's masses of frogspawn in the pond near the lodges, sparrows have started picking up feathers, snow drops are out in force and a patch of cheery yellow celandines are lighting up the drive.
Grape hyacinths - well they're not exactly wildflowers are they, but they provide nectar for early insects. I saw a bee yesterday, revelling in the sunshine. Don't know what kind.
