It's autumn proper now, with tawny leaves against (sometimes)blue skies. Flocks of finches in the garden, late red admiral butterflies braving the bluster in search of fallen apples, and mushrooms and toadstools amongst the damp leaf litter.
This morning I took some guests who are also fungi enthusiasts for a walk through the reserve. There were plenty of things to see, including fly agaric (left ) and russula mushrooms (right)of varying kinds.
