Wheatland Farm Lodges and Cottages
It may be autumn, but the butterflies are still flying, particularly near fruit trees scattered about the farm. Glorious red admirals and striking commas seem to particularly love the fallen apples - though the picture of the comma here was snapped on the drive where it was feeding on ivy flowers. Around the trees betweenthe lodges, speckled wood butterflies are still flitting around through dappled sunlight - although they're beginning to look faded and tatty now.
Emperor dragonflies are still on the wing too - but so far they've been too quick for my limited camera skills (and available time for snapping).
